New Travel Snack: Pure Bars

Oh granola bars. So portable, so delicious...and yet so often high in calories, saturated fat, high fructose corn syrup, or unpronounceable soy-derived ingredients. But lately I've been spying plenty of better options: bars that are made with all whole, nutritious ingredients and no added sugars or preservatives. I'm a big fan of Lara Bars already (peanut butter cookie tastes a lot like raw cookie dough), and have even tried baking my own granola bars. But my latest find is Pure Bars, a line of recently rebranded good-for-you snacks (see snazzy packaging above). All six flavors are organic, gluten-free, and raw. (Snickers, these are not.) But they are definitely tasty and I love that I recognize everything in them - dried fruits, nuts, agave, cacao nibs, and other wholesome ingredients. I'll pass on Chocolate Brownie (not enough like an actual brownie for me) in favor of the nicely chewy and sweet Trail Mix and Cherry Cashew bars.
