With the First Lady tending to the White House organic garden and chefs getting involved in childhood nutrition organizations, it seems like we might be on our way to banishing the days of mystery meat for good. Some of my favorite chefs, including Cathal Armstrong and Michael Anthony, are being proactive about working with schools and nonprofits. But Jamie Oliver is one step ahead of them: this year's 2010 TED winner, Oliver has been working with disadvantaged kids all over the world through Fifteen, his foundation, and overhauling British nutrition with his Ministry of Food and School Dinners campaigns. Now he's taking on the United States, with Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, a new series in which he'll bring healthy food to Huntington, Virginia. His acceptance speech at this year's TED conference is startling, thought-provoking, and a must-watch.
