PDT's Jim Meehan Stirs Classic New Orleans Cocktails

Just how does PDT bar manager Jim Meehan make a Sazerac? The official drink of New Orleans is stirred, not shaken, he told me a couple weeks ago. "A drink made with citrus or cream or eggs is traditionally shaken, and then a drink made with all clear ingredients, or spirituous ingredients, would be stirred," says Meehan, who was named Best American Bartender at this year's Tales of the Cocktail event. Good to know.
